We are looking forward to baking cookies together! I once worked at an Original Cookie store in a mall and have taught both of them some cookie-baking techniques I learned there. GirlChild is especially proud of her cookie-baking prowess, and rightfully so! She wants to show off for her mom. Beyond that, just a relaxed time together. Our area does not offer much without hours of driving. So ... Sit in the back porch, visit, and listen to the rooster crow!

I'm just trying to be healthy. My body doesn't wanna. But I'm eating healthy anyway. What I mean is, it's not responding as I wish it would. It won't metabolize or digest properly. It won't, as a consequence, lose weight. Doesn't matter. I'm still going to feed it good, healthy food in reasonable portions. I eat tiny portions actually because I feel stuffed after just a few bites. This has been a battle all my life, but only in the last ten years or so has it resulted in weight gain.

My Aunt was the same way. She tried hard to lose weight. Everything she tried didn't work. And she was sticking to it diligently. Some folks have a very low metabolism.

My dr tells me I am "insulin resistant," whatever that means (my A1c is 5.2 so I don't fit the diabetic profile), have gastropharesis (slow digestion) and hypothyroidism (low thyroid). I also get sludge in my bile duct and have had my gall bladder removed, and have had kidney stones. In other words, my whole digestive system is on strike or incompetent. I would kick it to the curb but apparently we are stuck with each other. I've googled for a new one but everybody seems to be out of stock at the moment. Perhaps I'll try again when the ships in the Atlantic start moving ...

I've also had my gall bladder removed and still have that sludge yuk. Can be painful at times. Well, like I said, this getting older isn't supposed to be all easy. I just say, it's expected ..when something new comes along. I would say, not fair when I see a 75 year old lady, or older, doing a whole lot better, but, speaking of lot, we all have a different lot to go through in life. I just hope I can go through it being able to still see the good in life. No reason to be negative in what's going on. And I can say that about what's going on in the world. It is what it is. We do our part and carry on the best we can. So much to still be grateful for. My goodness, what other country has what we have. Hard to believe so many want to complain as they stay comfy cozy in their homes. Granted, their are some that don't. But I'm here enjoying a warm home, and able to enjoy the snow that's come...until I had to shovel. We have gotten snow!! I had to go out and shovel for my dogs. Kids were in bed so I did it. I can't believe I did it. Something else to be grateful for. I did ok! It started filling in the area again. Can you see by the second photo on the railing that it's deep? Guessing a good 6 inches.

Yeah, insulin resistant here too. I hate being obese, but i use food as a comfort measure against stress. I need to keep downsizing the rabbits and chickens!

No no no lol. She belongs to a friend of mine - her hubs’ parents own the property out at the desert we go to so I just call Paul Daisy and goose the pack, even though all three pups are from different families - because they come out here and yep. Shenanigans ensue. Unfortunately no Paul this trip (the cane corso) and oh my goose is driving me batty with how spun he is. He didn’t want to settle last night at all.

…gosh I hope this doesn’t mean Daisy is going into her first heat.
