Granny's gone and done it again

I hope Lacey and Stacey live that long. Your girls look so healthy! Can tell you take great care of them!
Thank you. My hens love greens, especially kale. It's easy to grow for them if you have room in your garden.

I found an old book in the library about the history of chicken keeping in this county (the Egg Basket of the World!). An elderly woman was describing her chores as a child... in addition to scraping the roosts clean, she picked kale leaves, put them in the chopper and fed it to the hens. This would have been in the late 1800s. Good food for them. Makes the yolks a nice rich orange-yellow.

Oxycodone is usually written to be taken "once every four hours as needed for pain." At least that's how I've gotten it. But if you know your pain is only going to spike once a day, take it just once a day, when you can feel it coming on.

If you do that, you don't need to worry about getting addicted, I promise. It just takes the edge off a little bit. Other times you can manage pain with OTC meds. Good night! ❤️

Fine. Kill my fantasy!
Kinda like Geraldo Ravioli had that big television special about 10 or 15 years back where they had discovered the hidden vault of some old time gangster. They opened it on air expecting to find something special but it turned off to be a big flop, best I remember.

I have some chicken news. On of our grande dames (old hens) laid an egg today!
Peach is 10 this spring.

She didn't lay many eggs after the first 2 seasons, so funny that she popped one out today. Her comb sure is red. Maybe a couple days of sun got the hormones pumping.

The only other egg we got was a 5th one from the stray frizzy, Rumples.
I bet Peach was really proud of herself.
