Granny's gone and done it again

She looks great for 10. No scaly legs or anything I can see that would make me think shes 10. Kinda sad you dont have a roo to carry on her bloodline. Just sayin....
There will never be another Peach. We just want the best life for her.
I think free ranging has kept her active and healthy. I have an EE from the same first batch of chicks who is in very good shape. I guess it's the luck of genetics.

And Poppy is 9 yrs and still beautiful.

I have some chicken news. On of our grande dames (old hens) laid an egg today!
Peach is 10 this spring.

She didn't lay many eggs after the first 2 seasons, so funny that she popped one out today. Her comb sure is red. Maybe a couple days of sun got the hormones pumping.

The only other egg we got was a 5th one from the stray frizzy, Rumples.
She looks great for a 10 year old!

That’s probably what I’d do if it got to the point where I had to take one.
People mostly become addicted when they take the pills when not in pain. It is a slippery slope, though. Better to stick with the the OTC ones you are taking.

I was shocked an oral surgeon sent my teenage son home with a vial of oxycodone when he had his wisdom teeth out. He never took any. We just used the Tylenol and advil combo for a day or 2.

I hope Lacey and Stacey live that long. Your girls look so healthy! Can tell you take great care of them!

Well, for one, I hate taking any kind of meds. Always have, always will.
Plus Oxycodone in particular is highly addictive, so I’d rather avoid it. They did give me the ibuprofen and Tylenol so technically I’m still taking my pain meds, just not the really strong one.

Also, I’ve always been able to tolerate very high levels of pain, so I rarely take any kind of pain meds. I’m also much more likely to suffer through stronger pain in silence than take something. I’ve always been like that. But because of that basic pain meds work very well for me so I don’t typically need the stronger drugs.
Same with my dad, except he just avoids them all in general. He finally gave in when he got high choloestral. The only other time he actually took the prescription was when he got a rash from a poisonous plant on our lot.

You are doing so well. I know you are very loved, by many! You can do this!
