Granny's gone and done it again

I did not get to sleep until after 3 in the morning. Didn't I say last night that I thought I was going to be able to sleep. Hoping tonight is better. I did go out for a bit to watch the meteor shower. Saw a few.
We didn't see any meteors. Well, I might have seen one... it was partly cloudy. But the night was a-sparkle with ... fireflies! It was magical! I've never seen so many! From the ground at our feet to the pasture around us to the treetops at the edge of the pasture and the trees and sky above they were twinkling and flashing, and I have to say I think it was better than any meteor shower! Tonight at midnight I am going to wake up The Kid and drag him outside to see it.

We used to pinch their tails off and put them on a stick.
We captured some in a jar a few years back. But it was about ten o'clock and there weren't that many out. The kids really enjoyed it though. It is real easy to smash them even if you're trying to be careful.

Granny, this year when the lilies bloom, I am going to mark them so I know what colors and varieties they are. So I can ID them even after the blooms dry up. My plan is to dig them up and separate them so I can cultivate them. Then I can share (and someday maybe even sell!) the bulbs. I really want to share them with you Grannylanders but I want to know what they are so I can share the prettiest ones! Right now they are all gowing together so tightly packed they are choking each other, I have GOT to thin them! And thank God, I am finally getting strong enough to be able to do it, though it will be a long, slow job.

So what time does the sun come up? Been many a yr. since Ive seen a sunrise.
