Hi y’all. Can’t keep up with the rest of BYC so imma hop in here first (though I am hopelessly behind here too). Been real busy lately and honestly just trying to take care of my mental health. I finished freshman year as top 4th in my grade of 150+ students, so I guess its safe to say it paid off. Honestly didn’t know they still did grade ranking though…doesn’t seem very healthy to promote that kind of competition. Otherwise, I’m officially ON my summer break, though I'm certain the break part of it got left behind.

It’s getting hot over here, so I have several fans covering the animals. Hammie is toward the lighter side of fair weight, but we got another week to go until fair. Goats are bagging up real quick, and I need to give them some selenium soon. Chickens are doing good, no more broodies-which is practically a miracle in itself!! Also means that I can start selling them off soon. I’ve been enjoying the barn owls around here too. It’s their nesting season and a family of barn owls is occupying a little birdhouse at the edge of the property. I try not to bother them, but since I go on night walks, I sometimes bring my camera and practice night photography. I would love to become a veterinary practitioner with extensive training in avian practice. I am absolutely OBSESSED with birds...though can't say I'm not obsessed with all the other animals! :D

Think I will spend most of my summer doing next years curriculum again. Seems that last summer's studies have helped me this year. I try to tell myself that a harder today sets a foundation for an easier tomorrow. That being said, I probably won’t be on BYC as much, just wanted to update so you guys don’t think I fell off the face of the earth!! Oh and I did some research and found out I actually have a neighbor who’s an equine/livestock vet. Will reach out to her in the coming few weeks. Probably would be nice to have her on call for the goat kiddings anyway.

Here's Kiki's dna stuff from embark. Turns out she is mostly poodle and chihuahua with little to no terrier. Sorta shocking!

Her health is looking promising. Hope my baby can be with me when that DVM degree hits my hand.

I'm rambling, aren't I? Well, I've missed yall. :hugs

Hi all, found another tick embedded in my back today. Its already left a bad spot.
Good news is SD and SIL showed up today and he fixed my brakes! They came from around Dayton Ohio. Brought soup beans and made corn bread. it was the yum. Did dishes. cat litter and garbage to the road too. Shoot, she even brought my food to me in my chair. Talk about spoiled.
That's mighty good he fixed your brakes for you. Saved you bookoos moolah.

Just be aware that the rotors being somewhat scarred from being driven metal on metal will wear away the pads a bit faster. Although they have lasted me a year or more on some pretty bad rotors.
ok. thank you. He also said I will need tires before winter hits. There was nothing left on that pad on the drivers side. I got it all done for $60. that was giving him $20 towards gas
