Granny's gone and done it again

go outside and let him watch you pee. It works!
He goes outside almost exclusively, because I take him out a lot. He whines to get out of his pen, I scoop him up and take him out to the same spot and he does his business. If he's trying to climb out of the pen or chew it down or tug and pull the sides... then he stays put because he doesn't have to go. Whining gets him a trip outside. We went out just a minute ago.

If I let him out of the pen into the house after whining, he will pee on the kitchen floor or on the rug. Desperate? He was whining so... my fault. I need to try Blue's technique.

Snuggle Puppy is a stuffed animal that has a battery operated gizmo that vibrates in pulses and makes a little noise to replicate a heart beat. You put that inside the plushie and it's comforting to them. Makes him feel like there's someone with him. And he can get himself back to sleep faster.

And when their gone their gone.
sweet dreams all
Duty called.. Pi had to pee (& poop).
He has officially been named Pi. It's what he responds to best, so not going to mess with a good thing. I have been calling him Sweetie Pie. It fits, but I'm taking off the last e.

I usually leave them in the crate in the morning until they whine, then let them out, as I feel the purpose of the crate is to teach them to ask. I say things like, "Good boy, want OUT? Let's go OUT," always emphasizing the word OUT. After about a week I will start leaving the crate door open but the room door closed to see if they will keep the room clean. Then I repeat the process in other rooms in the house till he's learned that the whole house is his "den" and is to be kept clean. AND to "ask" to be let out.
We do pretty much the same, except it's in our mother tongue. They will give me a perplexed look and cock their heads side to side if I say it in english. They hear me talking but they have no clue what I'm saying. They do know some english commands, just not all.

Just when you catch up, you know he will come home and dump all his dirty laundry in the hamper!

Yeah, when he's sleeping!
He can get rambunctious and loves to run. He tastes or picks up everything he comes across, and especially likes pulling weeds. The water dish always has bits of dirt and stuff in it.

He likes collecting feathers,

and he's learning things from Scooter.

Most mammals have been known to eat the afterbirth at times. (Even people!) It's a ready source of energy and if mama can't move her babies away, predators won't be attracted if it's eaten.

Thanks. I'm in love. He does have a impish side. And he can climb like a monkey!

:frow We'd be more than happy to take some of your excess rain. Reservoirs here in CA are dangerously low.
Wish Mother Nature could spread it out a bit.

That's impressive, Cherry! :thumbsup
And you processed the cockerels yourself. :bow
Hubby does his own laundry! Mt. Washmore is all mine!

Wow, wish we could get a little of that. We're 9.5 inches below normal and nothing in the forecast.
Hope y'all don't float away.
Yeah. Creek has not flowed this year. We are dry. Feel bad for goose. Somethings bugging his tummy so we’re outside but there’s no grass for him. Just weeds. Some crabby grass. :/
Me too.
In my experience, if a pup is not house trained by 3 months, it never will be. I had one like that too. It had to be either outside, or in its crate, or in hubby's arms. Could not have the run of the house, ever.
You know….peach took awhile. But I think that’s because when I got her, we were in the “basement suite” so to get out we had to go up stairs and through two sets of doors (and she was very subtle in her cues). When we moved to my house…she figured it out pretty danged quick.

(Though she couldn’t be left the run of the house unattended til she was 3 or so. Her separation anxiety was something else…)
