I wouldn't know how to fix a dog that's hand shy. That can be caused by people patting a dog by thumping them on the head. They mean well, but most dogs don't enjoy it. Dogs prefer to have their heads lovingly stroked from nose to ears. People should watch their dogs' faces and body language to see what they like. Since your dog is hand shy, reach for her under her chin to pet her. Maybe she's been hit on the head as a punishment; if so, she'll always fear hands coming at her from above.she was around 2 yrs when I got her. U have had her for 6 yrs. now. She had ear mites, fleas, pregnant for the 2nd time by her brother. Hand shy
Any idea what caused them? That's so sad. It's terrible watching them have seizures... and in one so young. Poor Sour. I know how he feels. Scooter had 5 seizures in about 12 hrs. The last 2 were mega. He was in bad shape, so had him put down before he had another, which I don't think he would have survived.
Might have been a good idea. Might still be a good idea. I rescued a Cocker once ... I asked him if some fool had named him Freckles bc he had freckles, and he hung his head. So I asked if I could call him Dusty and he wagged his tail and climbed up in my lap and licked me! So Dusty it was. He was full grown but he took right to it. Worth a try anyway, if the name traumatizes her. What would you change it to?I thought about changing her name because every time its said she hides. But she has had it for a long time now.
I miss his big brown eyes.I miss you sharing Scooter pictures
How does she like that name?no idea. She used to be named Priscilla.
Love the bottom picture. That would be nice for christmas cards or just a picture to hang on the wall.
