Granny's gone and done it again

Cap, did yall work on that pear tree today?
Hubby dragged it out of the ground with the truck. I dug a big hole to put it in. But then i had to drive to Martinsville and meet a lady who bought a goat from me today. So i went to Rural King, Goodwill , and Joann fabrics. Didn't get home until well after dark.

My GirlChild's 5 mo old cur puppy is coming along well. She wants to train her as a PTSD Service Dog. At this point the only real challenge I'm seeing is that she needs a lot more socializing, she still wants to "wuff" at people. She may succeed. But she has a LOT of work to do .
I don't want him social to the extent that he'll welcome one and all to the farm, and yet I don't want him to be a biter either. I think we have enough people coming and going that he'll figure out friend from enemy. There are some church going people that one of our dogs absolutely hates. I'm guessing the dog senses something in the men that we don't pick up by sight. I have taken note of his senses because I have learned that he has been 100% accurate so far. We have also removed ourselves from that particular church, which didn't go down all that well. The leaders have become very ill at ease with us and the dog hates them even more since we left. We've gotten the feeling that the main "leader" is snake-like in his "leading" which the dog sensed. I don't know if I'm just all wonky in my head or if it's all true. I have a tendency to want to believe better of someone rather than be suspicious all the time.

I trust my dogs. They can sense things we don't.

Dogs are great judges of character.

We rescued our cattle dogs from an Amish farm. Our two Border Collie crosses showed up at our gate one morning. All 6 dogs intensely dislike the Amish that come and go to the point that the Border Collies will struggle with us when we hold their collars, break free and run away from them.

Kinda scary.

Morning all you happy campers out there! Another pretty fall day here. 74 degrees but a big change with rain this afternoon and temperatures dropping to 25 tonight and only 35 tomorrow. Yikes! We need the rain but I am not ready for the cold. I have two coops to clean that are on hold until the Amish neighbor who owes us about a dozen bales of straw comes through with the bedding.

Looks like I'll be shoving the you know what in the cold.

Agenda for the day is to head to the nearby Amish bulk grocery store where I can get a gallon of ice cream for 4.99 and a bag of chicken breats for around 9 dollars. Last time there I bought a 10# bag of generic Cheerio's for 10$. DH loves them and says they taste better than the name brand!

Be back later, everyone enjoy your morning coffee!

I have so much work to do, it's crazy. But, one day at a time. MRI today, need to replant the pear tree in it's new hole. Ceramic classes this afternoon. I need to unload the feed, etc. from the truck because i am getting a load of hay Saturday.

Morning all, Nancy is coming to take me to lunch! Hospital called wanting to set up appts. for all these tests including one I didnt know about. A vascular US. I made that appt. but none of the others because I need a driver . Well, and Im just not sure I want to go thru with it.
Too much at once.
