Granny's gone and done it again

Figured out what happened to the other chicks.


I filled the feeder, and climbed halfway in the coop to reach the bowl, then put it down, then moved it, then filled it up. The chick started screaming and I thought one of the adults was on it, but they all backed off hollering. Then I thought maybe the feeder was on it. Nope, that snake. I had been within a foot of it over and over again.

I ran inside and hollered for a shovel, got mad, yelled there was a snake with a chick in its mouth, slammed the door, opened it back up and DH and I shouted "the .22!" At the same time. I grabbed it and ran back out. I didn't want to have my head in the coop while I shot, so I put the stock under my left armpit, put the muzzle on the snake's head, poked my head out of the coop, closed my eyes, and pulled the trigger. The snake started flopping around and the chick ran off screaming.

I can't believe the chick is ok.

I was thinking the same as granny... this is a great story for your interview.

pups fine. He keeps bringing me a slobbery toy wanting me to throw it. I cant with my wrist and he is on the wrong side.

I was thinking NOTHING about a one eyed snake. hahahaaa Thats all on you.

I mean, thats a tramatic event and after its over and I won I would giggle from pure release .
