Granny's gone and done it again

A high hemoglobin A1c , or A1C, shows your body has difficulty regulating glucose levels. An A1C of 6.5% or higher indicates diabetes. Dangerous levels of A1C are 9% and higher. An A1C above 9% increases the risk of long-term diabetes complications like blindness, nerve damage, and kidney failure.

Well, at least he's trying. It sounds pretty dire, though. Did they give you guys any diet advice that will work with his crohn's? Seems like meat would be good for him.

I think a lot of it is the result of 3 yrs of worldwide covid. Companies and other businesses shut down, some never made it back, and we're still feeling the effects. Stupid war doesn't help either. For example, Ukraine used to produce a lot of the world's grains... wheat, barley, and I think corn. They can't produce now, so the slack is either picked up by a new producer or there are shortages.
The politics of war mess with global supply chains too.
Makes me think of a song I've been trying to post in the Songs I like thread but my phone won't copy and paste. Skypilot by Eric Burden.

dr asked him to go see the dietitian. He refused saying he knows what he can and cant eat. He likes meat. eats a lot of beef sticks. It makes it even harder because we barely cook.
