Granny's gone and done it again

Can't wait to see it, Cap!
Me either, it's a rainbow carp!

@LTAY, can we get pics of your little giant chicks? Would love to watch them grow!
I will take some as soon as I can get them into a coop to where I can. Their coop right now is plenty big for them but it is not good for me as it is on the ground level and I have to bend to freshen up their water and feed. Things are changing but not fast enough to suit me.

Got Jenny back from the vet yesterday afternoon. She was thirsty and pukey. After she emptied her belly a couple of times I pulled all the water even though she was clearly craving it. At 11 pm when she had not vomited in over an hour, I gave her very small drinks through the night and she kept it down. She kept her dinner down too this afternoon, though she only ate half rations. Poor kid, obviously not feeling great. Tomorrow should be much better. Worth it though.

Thanks, Larry. I thought you were cutting back on your chicken population?

I am. Production layers. The specialty birds will only be a roo and 8-10 hens. No more 50 hen coops of layers. We finally got a setup today for processing them as meat birds. There will be chicken and dumplings once a week for the next 10 years.

That reminds me, I need to bring one of my cockerels out of the freezer. We haven't had dumplings in a while ...
I have some Cornish x Rock cross roosters that weighs at least 20lbs and should dress out at least 15lbs. That's 20 or more meals of chicken and dumplings from one bird.
