Granny's gone and done it again

His bone marrow transplant from one of his kids was successful. It was hard on both of them but after more than a decade it is still working. He just takes precautions. Avoids sharp edges and objects outside of a steak knife at the table. More than once we had doubts about him making it but he has and looks good. He does have a very thin spot on the top of his head from all the chemo that will never be he same again but that was a small price to pay for living.
Wonderful, nice to hear a succes story.

We are shopping bread machines. Not in a hurry but will have one before the heat wave starts late spring here. Once it gets hot we don't use the big oven. It becomes crock pot weather then.
Us either. We have an air fryer. Works good on small frozen items.

My wrists and shoulders just can't do the kneading anymore. This bread tastes just as good. Well..I did make some pretty good bread back in the day. 😜

My first husband had leukemia and got a bone marrow transplant from one of his brothers in 1993. I think he died in 2019 or so, so pretty good results from that. He actually died from complications of Parkinson's.

I can't knead either, Cynthia. I now bake sourdough, it's so much easier, no kneading required. It does take two days to make, as it's a long, slow rise, but I really love it. It also has only about 10% of the gluten, as most of it gets digested during that slow rise. If you go to the thread titled "Any Home Bakers Here?" you'll find several who bake SD, and @ronott1 is the head guru of SD baking there. He will be more than happy to send you a dried sourdough starter (SDS) along with instructions and recipes! Most of us have gotten our starts from him. Sourdough is EASY and DELICIOUS.
