if I ever have chickens again they will be in the correct run that no predators can possibly access. I still remember the shock of that morning coming out to see body parts everywhere.

Granny most of those very high priced chickens are for folks that travel with them to poultry shows where they exhibit to start building a reputation for having excellent stock according to the Stand of Perfection. They get their money back and a profit if they are honest and work at it. As for predators their chickens live in their private Fort Knox.

It really was. I stood there for what felt like hrs. til someone came and lead me back in the house. It was a man I didnt remember calling him or anything of the sort. He was burying the chickens. I did find out later that he talked to me online and I hired him to come clean the mess up. I still dont remember it.

Well it just didn't show you at all, Larry. Like right now for example, Cap and Cynthia are not posting here, so we don't see them at all. But I'm here posting. Is there a little green light on my avatar?

Back long before the days of BYC we had a pen of maybe 20 RIR hens and came home one day to find them all dead. A German Shepherd dog had come from blocks away in town and had broken into a pen that even coons had not and killed every one of them and a pet bantam rooster. I went into a want kill whatever did this and then I found out and kept a shotgun at the door waiting for that dog. One day he came with kids that dared bring him back. They got there bladder dumped when they saw me come out of the hose with my shotgun. They ran home and told ma. Then I told ma if they wanted that dog to live keep their dog on a leash or at home.
