Granny's gone and done it again

Last night I went to go check the goats, and I noticed the tiny male who is breeding age, has a badly infected lower eyelid. No idea how that happened. So I had to lance it and remove the pus. He was less than impressed. I picked him some leaves, and gave him some chunks of apple. I applied Terramycin to the eye itself. But I am thinking now I should also give him injectable antibiotics. So I will do that tonight.

A fistula? A fistula where? I thought a fistula was a bad thing. I knew a horse that had one under his tongue, it's an unnatural opening, a hole; it came out under his chin; when he ate hay fell out through it, hay and saliva. It got infected and took weeks to heal.
It's for folks that receive Dialysis. Once they are ready to use the port can come out. Sadly, my little sis kept getting blood clots in her fistula's. That poor girl was in the hospital so many times. That's why she finally said ..no more. I told her it was up to her. I was her official guardian. She was mentally handicapped. She kept saying that she just wanted to see mom..mom being in the spirit world. So, I told her she could come home to die. They told me that when people come off of Dialysis it usually only takes about 5 days. Sometimes a week. She stayed here for 5 weeks! We were glad. She made it through Easter. She was out hunting Easter eggs with Ashton. Then our family came up with the idea of having cars of family and friends drive by with signs. This was 2020. Lockdown year. Oh my goodness! They got the police involved. Good ol Spanish Fork police came through. We were sitting out front waiting..Lisa didn't know what was up..first a few friends, then a bunch of family, then I look down the street and I'm yelling..Lisa! Look down the street! Lights flashing from several police cars and they are playing one of her favorite songs from Frozen over an intercom. You can guess what it was. :) The police blasted their sirens as they came up to the house and past. Turned around and came back using their sirens again. The kids had made signs saying we love Lisa, with Rainbows drawn on them. She loved Rainbows! She cried. I cried. Scott cried. It was fantastic. I'll see if I can get some photos from the videos tomorrow. I sure miss that cute giggle of hers. 💙

They're blessed to have you, knowing just what to do!

Fistula. That’s what is called
It's weird to touch the area and feel the buzzing on the arm. This is a nice big fistula. Lisa's never got real big.

Wishing I could go back into the studio and do more there. But I must go tend that young goat. And the other goats. Check on the chickens.
Earlier today I worked on cleaning up hay on the floor in the barn. One Mule load, ready to dump tomorrow. I need to buy more feed, and hay as well.
Have a great night , everyone.
