Granny's gone and done it again

We do have the water all draining off outside the coop instead of some running down the tarp and leaking into the inside of the coop. We worked that out before proceeding to try to finish in a hurry. I told my helper that if may not be finished today but when it was finished I wouldn't be sliding down in slick mud ankle deep after a heavy rain and the hens wouldn't be tracking mud into the nest boxes.

I have an idea on how to have a type of shutter now that will mount on hinges that I can close on rainy days on the back side and an awning that extends out over the run so rain can't blow through the door that opens from the run into the coop. That is a new improvement. The hens (& roo) can get out an get sunshine and will have a dust bath under the awning.

Well I'm on the downward slope of today's Bell Curve. If I can sleep tonight as good as I did last night I'm going to be a happy camper out working tomorrow. I had to make a run to town this morning after we started up on the coop project for a missing supply. As I was slowly driving out the long driveway to get to the paved road I looked in the rear view mirror to see a dozen or so roosters that run loose all day following behind me. I have on RIR roo that meets me when I turn in the driveway coming home. He is special in that he lets me pick him up with out much fuss as long as I have a teaspoon of a treat like cracked corn. Most of the roosters want me to toss it so then don't have to get to close and risk being picked up. He will make the breeding team and some will be sent to freezer camp for dumpling days.

evening all. Trying to bobcat snow with a layer of ice under it is a challenge. BUT I goter done. Cleaned of blue and picked up layer and a bag of oyster shell. Did some book keeping and ran to the bank. Poor Star can't figure out why I don't want to cuddle when she come in covered in snow.
