I will plant a few big beefsteak types for mater sandwiches and a whole lot more paste type for canning. We need to plant enough for diced tomatoes to use in chili as well as making sauce for spaghetti and other pasta dishes. Next winter we will have a green house so we can have tomatoes and summer squash in the winter. Maybe some burpless cukes too.

I've never fed out a pig before but may have to learn how. I could cook some of these old tough roosters down and feed them to pigs to make bacon and pork chops out of.

I did can some good stewed tomatoes with green peppers and onions in there and a little seasoning I used different colored peppers just for looks.

We don't do the peppers in tomatoes. Neither of us like them cooked. They make me better half sick to her stomach. I don't like the taste. I eat a few in a stir fry but not many. That reminds me. I need to order paprika seeds.

One thing that has come down in price in the grocery stores is Bacon. Thank goodness for that. I really like my bacon and tomato sandwiches in the summertime.
