Granny's gone and done it again

I'll be honest, it won't surprise me if two days before he is supposed to head this way there is a crisis on the job and he calls to say he can't make it.
I don't mean to be negative or critical. We text and talk on the phone and I know he loves me. He just ... takes his responsibilities seriously.

Well, the Smokehouse Creek fire in the panhandle has grown to 850,000 acres and homes lost. I've read of only one death. The fire is less than 5% contained at this point. A slight chance of rain in the forecast might help a little. The T. Boone Pickens ranch has been lost. It's a 64,000 acre ranch with multiple man-made lakes and water features. Even had a man-made river that was fed with gigantic pumps.

I did not hear news of a death on tonight's news, Pert, sorry to hear. Just one firefighter injured. Rain is expected tomorrow, praying it will be enough to help! ❤️🙏❤️ Is it anywhere near you or yours, Pert?
