Good afternoon. I just had late lunch and now going out to check on chickens and then fire up the tiller until dark thirty or I get rained out. Going to try and prepare sweet potato beds after I plant some carrots and beets in the ground if it hasn't rained that out while I was napping while the boss went grocery shopping.

With chicks costing 9 dollars a piece I am going to try and hatch some. Our flock got decimated this winter. I had inherited a bunch of nice chickens but they were not trained to sleep in a coop. They were picked off one by one this winter. Even our rooster got eaten my friend is selling eggs for 4 dollars a dozen. She has a rooster. I will see if these eggs are fertile.
