My meds are resting on a bed of prune plums. Needed something to cushion the blow.

Good, get anything good? Food shopping?I went shopping finally lol
They are just doing what they were made to do. Wish I could get another broody. None of my hens that have a high probability of going broody are. Not a Delaware, White Giant, or Dark Cornish. I think it is to hot here now. I'm hoping that the White Giant hen that slips off to lay by and oak tree is thinking about it. I need to put a better nest box in her coop for brooding and keeping her shut up to make sure.Good, get anything good? Food shopping?
I'm still getting "rubber" or "jelly" eggs with just membrane on them. None yesterday but two today, and somebody's eating the goodies out of them. Occasionally now I find an egg with a peck mark on it. Not happy! Think I may have to invest in a nest cam, but then what do I do, sit and watch it all day to see what's going on?
I now have three broodies, all from my OG hens: a FBCM, a Speckled Sussex, and ... hmmm... a Blue CM? She just started, so not sure. They may have just nominated themselves for freezer camp, the first two definitely.
Isn't plant based butter another name for margarine?DH found some gluten free, dairy free Oreo cookies for GC yesterday. He got a pkg of regular glavor snd one of mint flavor stuffing. I tried one of the mint, it was delicious. The stuffing was very smooth and soft, which I loved. I've never been wild about Oreos bc their stuffing is gritty. These were good but I won't be eating many, of course bc of the sugar. We're switching to plant based butter, you can't taste the difference. This iz going to be easier than I'd feared.
Oh, I know, Larry. But I became a victim of Chicken Math and some of my older girls have to go. They're helping me decide which ones. I don't hatch or sell, so I don't need broodies. They are just doing what they were made to do. Wish I could get another broody. None of my hens that have a high probability of going broody are. In other news, I think 9 of my 16 chicks are cockerels - if the upright tails tell the tale! That's good news, because I can integrate 7 pullets fairly easily.
