Granny's gone and done it again

I didn't. I want to hang on to every dime possible now.
Understandable!!!!
Good, get anything good? Food shopping?

I'm still getting "rubber" or "jelly" eggs with just membrane on them. None yesterday but two today, and somebody's eating the goodies out of them. Occasionally now I find an egg with a peck mark on it. Not happy! Think I may have to invest in a nest cam, but then what do I do, sit and watch it all day to see what's going on? :barnie

I now have three broodies, all from my OG hens: a FBCM, a Speckled Sussex, and ... hmmm... a Blue CM? She just started, so not sure. They may have just nominated themselves for freezer camp, the first two definitely.
Yup!!! Milk, cheese, bread, English muffins, mayonnaise, deli turkey, ground beef, and peach cottage cheese.

Oh, I know, Larry. But I became a victim of Chicken Math and some of my older girls have to go. They're helping me decide which ones. I don't hatch or sell, so I don't need broodies.

In other news, I think 9 of my 16 chicks are cockerels - if the upright tails tell the tale! That's good news, because I can integrate 7 pullets fairly easily.
A lot of EEs can have wonky tails. Gotta go by the combs at that age and also the saddle and hackle feathers although they may be a bit young for that. How old are they?

We have a pellet smoker setting on the porch. Been there for at least a year. #1 son brought it to us when he moved into an RV and started traveling here and there. He works from where ever he is for the day or week. One major problem with it. It doesn't like the polarity of our outlets. When gets back this way we will work at it some more. Won't to fix it without getting an electrician involved. I think I can use one of our large power supplies and then plug the pellet smoker into that and get clean sine wave power. I may and go head and try it. I've never used it before so I'm really wanting him to be here. He won't be traveling until a repair is made to his RV and then he is on his way to the PNW to do a whale watching adventure with some friends.
You on solar/inverter power?
Gonna be 104 tomorrow. It's just too early for that stuff.
Ooof.

Yeah I’ve had ee bamboozle me with their proud tails.

Keep waking up at five am. Ugh.
