Granny's gone and done it again

Camping, remember Danna was under a boil water alert and these chicks got that water. I cant imagine a dose of antibiotics for one that small but I bet it wouldnt hurt anything.

Arent all black chickens showing that purple sheen in the sun ?

Camping, whats in sav-a-chick ?  Gatoraid ?

There's a packet that is vitamins and electrolytes, and a packet that is probiotics. She said she has those already.

I gave yolk-butt chick crumble fines that were wet down with water and a drop of honey. That might help perk them up a bit.

I wet the cumbles. I have tons of honey. DH thinks he is a bee.

Isn't Ralphie's a hoot?? :lau
Yes! His cherry crop :gig was better than ours last year and our tree is huge. We are trying to figure out how to cover it and get a few cherries this year. Tons of little green ones, thanks to all the rain.
morning all..the baby died..i did all i knew to do for her..i did try the eggs too..i have another one acting funny..i really believe they were sick when i got them..camps chicks are so healthy..no pasty butt and growing like weeds...
Sorry about the chick. Did these come from a big hatchery? They shouldn't have cocci troubles... camping might be right about them getting too cold. That can cause organ damage and there's not much you can do about it. Making sure they are well hydrated is important to give them a chance to heal. Water for them is more important than food. You have done a great job with the yaks. They look so healthy. And wooly.
It's not even six. Dangit nugget.
Who needs a rooster when you've got a Nugget? She wuvs you and wants to make sure you see her before work! Everything I've read about the SS say they are quiet. :idunno
