It sometimes requires instant decisions and snap reflexes. And it can have life and death consequences. If Robert doesn't feel safe or comfortable doing it, then he shouldn't. There is nothing wrong with knowing your limitations and living within them. I think it shows maturity, responsibility and wisdom on his part. And isn't that what we all hope for our kids?
