I let paperwork build up on my dining room table. I finally got it sorted. I can see my table again. I get overwhelmed. Will you share what it was?

What’s everyone up to today!? Anything fun or exciting/interesting!?
No need to apologize!!! I was just curious hahah but oh wow!!!Not really, sorry. Mom culled some cockerels this morning since her bandage came off and stitches pulled yesterday.
I'm such a wimp. I caught the boys, handed one to her, ran off inside, and when she knocked on the window I came back out to get another before running away again.
Philosophically I'm totally fine with culling... I just hate the idea of them suffering.
My two attempts at putting on my big farmer girl britches ended with:
#1 - Slashing my own tendon on my thumb requiring surgery and months of rehab before I could write again. Roo was fine.
#2 - Tried with a broomstick and he just wouldn't die. No wing flapping... blinking eyeballs. Mom swearing he was dead already and me just begging her to cut off his head to be sure.
She's actually kinda banned me from the whole culling chickens thing. She doesn't want to deal with my uncertainty regarding the deadness level. Or whether we're crushing the windpipe and causing it to suffer. Or...
Well, last time we were able to throw them in the garbage since that's allowed. But this time (mom still isn't up to processing) it's going to be 4 days before garbage pickup and I need to go dig a hole now that the sun has gone behind the trees. It was super hot today. Unlike @LTAY1946 nothing on earth could make me work out in the hot sun. Maybe if I was running from a T-rex.
I wish there was someone around these parts that processed chickens and other types of fowl. If I could get my beef taste buds back I'd get a bull calf fixed from the neighbor across the road and feed it out to 900-1100 lbs and get it processed. Vacuumed sealed it would keep I think 3 years in the freezer. We get nice cuts of pork on sale much cheaper than I could raise one. I've got maybe 10 altogether young freezer camp attendees coming up soon. No freezer space. Ma wants to can some chicken. Then she can just warm it in dishes like broccoli Alfredo and others.Lol. Poor Roses! Sounds like you are not processing them for eating, right? The way we make sure they are really, truly dead and not suffering in that case, is to use the broomstick method and pull hard enough to decapitate them. It doesn't take that hard of a pull. For processing for the freezer we take them to a lady that actually does it professionally. We're no good at all that, lol and are scared we might accidentally contaminate the meat.
Fell asleep hope I can sleep tonightI took my meds after lunch and the made sleepy but I couldn't go to sleep. I'm still not getting anything done. I may finish mowing the strip out by the road when I do finally get up the nerve to go out. I still feel like I've been slipped a Micky. I'm not working up any sweats until I get the results of the stress test Wednesday.
Good job!I let paperwork build up on my dining room table. I finally got it sorted. I can see my table again. I get overwhelmed.
