I think you are correct. They can give you stuff in the hospital but once home you probably can’t take anything but what the pain clinic gives you. The pain clinic is afraid of you overdosing. You are already on a powerful opiate and if you take more you could overdose. There is a point where no more narcotics are going to work for pain. Not sure what the answer is.
 
I'm to wound up and fired up that a pain mgt doc would try and tell some one a hospital can't treat them for pain caused by a surgery. That is just not so.
