Granny's gone and done it again

Thanks!!!! I have my list in my head but maybe I should write it down lol
I always write down my list when I see my doctor. He's very brisk, always in a hurry, and if I don't have a list I will forget important stuff. I almost forgot to ask about my hand tremors last time, caught him as he was dashing out the door, lol. Only see him every 6 mo., so glad I caught him.

I think no rest for the wicked was a Bible quote.. not sure, might have been no rest for the weary. Stand by.
I know where it comes from, I just don't like when someone dis themselves. It has long term psychological negative effects.
In the same way when we affirm each other it has long term psychological good effects.
There are times when we need to face ourselves and call it what it is.

Good idea

How are you today @troyer ? How's them pups?
The pups had to go because of the neighbors. I'm not sure why it's such a problem for us to have dogs, we live in the country and in the summer when all the leaves are on the trees we can see only one set of buildings. In the winter we can see a total of three other residents. We are on a very rural dirt road.
Anyway, in order to be peaceful neighbors we got rid of them.
We used to be amish, but left the lifestyle twenty three years ago. It just seems like they harbor ill will against us for that.
They call law enforcement/dog warden on our dogs for no reason at all. Even law enforcement tells us there's no logical reason for it.
We are planning on getting a dog in the future, but we needed some time to re-evaluate what we can do to keep things peaceable.
We tend to get purebreds and most of our neighbors have mutts, I'm wondering if that doesn't have a lot to do with it. I also specifically train my dogs a certain way to where they resond to me in confidence and not by cowering. There is a general spirit of extreme dominance in the traditions of the amish and if they can't make others cower before them at any time they seem to get angry. I want my dogs to be confident in all that they do and that depends solely on me. My dogs confidently respond to me, while a few amish admire that, most will not.
There are people that when they pass our place will heckle the dogs, I really don't like that and the dogs we've gotten so far don't like it either. I want to be able to train my dog to ignore that and possible to completely disdain it.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope they found a good home. Is it because they are not behind a fence? Your dogs seemed very well trained.

They weren't behind a fence, hardly anyone around here keeps their dogs tied and a lot less keep them penned up. There are neighbors whose dogs come roaming, especially at night, sometimes during the day. If I can catch them I take them back to their home, a neighborly thing to do.
The recall of my dogs was second to none.

I had nightmares last night and didn't sleep well. It's drizzling lightly out now. I did a minor repair inside a coop this morning that will keep the young small game birds (chickens)from flying up and then roosting to were the can get out th coop in the mornings. When I had heave breeds in this big brooder/grow out coop they didn't do this.

I know your dogs were highly trained. No dogs are allowed to roam free here. Of course we have tons of strays, the dog pound is overflowing, people trying to rehome very nice dogs a lot of people just can’t afford to feed their families much less a pet. Vet care is so expensive, no one can afford it.
