Granny's gone and done it again

What do you do to prevent worms in the ears of corn?
This project has been in progress for six years and the ears that have no worm eaten areas are the ones that were kept for seeds. My theory is that selection can be made for worm resistance. The time before this planting there were very few ears that were worm eaten. Keep in mind that by default it’s being selected for this area. I’m hopeful that it’ll do well elsewhere as well.

I've thought about planting tall stock corn and maybe even some white corn that is used for cornflakes with pole beans climbing the stalks that provide nitrogen for the corn. Rows 4' apart with field pumpkins for chicken feed in the middles. A few hills of pie pumpkins for our use. No sense in letting the chickens have all the treats.

I like the way you think.
