I have the room. They will be allowed to free range over a lot of ground for clover, bugs, and weeds.I wish I could keep my hens till they live out their natural lives, but I can't. I have to make room for more layers. My space is limited. But they still become part of me forever.

The chickens look pretty dismal right now. I thought my hens usually wait till later to moult. Can it mean a harder or earlier winter is coming?Our spent hens will be given to anyone who needs a pet and isn't looking for eggs. Some people just need a friendly companion that is cheap to maintain.
