Granny's gone and done it again

What do you take for pain?
During the day, tramadol and acetaminophen. At night Gabapentin, Flexeril along with the tram and acetaminophen. I hate it with a screaming red passion but they finally got things arranged so I can sleep at night and usually can do things I want to do during the day without too much discomfort.

guess I should get up from here and see what's for dinner. Get off my tail end and get some blood moving.
well, I made Tom PB&J and myself some soup. I went right back to sleep til he woke me going to bed. I slept the day away.

Our Joke of the Day
😎

Three women, two younger, and one senior citizen were sitting in a sauna only covered by a towel.
Suddenly there was a beeping sound. The young woman pressed her forearm and the beep stopped. The others looked at her questioningly. ‘That was my pager,’ she said. ‘I have a microchip under the skin of my arm.’
A few minutes later, a phone rang. The second young woman lifted her palm to her ear. When she finished, she explained, ‘That was my mobile phone. I have a microchip in my hand.’
The older woman felt very low-tech. Not to be outdone, she decided she had to do something just as impressive. She stepped out of the sauna and went to the bathroom.
She returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging from her rear end.The others raised their eyebrows and stared at her. The older woman finally said… ‘Well, will you look at that…
I’m getting a fax!!!’

What You'll Need:
4 large, firm apples (such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady)
1 cup of full-fat milk
1 cup of plain flour
4 tbsp sugar (divided)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1½ tsp ground cinnamon (divided)
¼ cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Step-by-step:
1️⃣
Peel and remove the core from the apples, then cut them into sticks, about ½ to ¾ inches wide. Place the apple pieces in a bowl, pouring the milk over them. Gently stir to coat all slices. Set aside.
2️⃣
In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, cornstarch, 1 tbsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Set aside.
3️⃣
In a separate small dish, blend 3 tbsp of sugar with ½ tsp of cinnamon. Stir until combined, then set aside for later.
4️⃣
Take several apple slices at a time from the milk, shake off the excess, and dredge them in the flour mixture. Make sure each slice is evenly coated, then place them on a tray. Repeat until all slices are coated.
5️⃣
Heat ¼ cup of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Prepare a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil after frying. Once the oil is ready, fry the coated apples in batches of 6-8 slices, cooking each side for about 1-2 minutes, until golden.
6️⃣
After frying, transfer the apple slices to the paper towel-lined plate. While still warm, sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture prepared earlier.
7️⃣
Repeat frying and sprinkling for the remaining apple slices. Serve warm and enjoy your crispy apple fries!

This afternoon we put new tarps on two coops that were destroyed a couple of nights ago. Feel better now that it can't rain in on the kids. My eyes are very tired for some reason tonight so I am going to rest for a while. Should be back a little later to check in to see what else is going on in Granny Land.
