I can’t imagine doing a neuter myself. I have seen two different neuter done by farm vets on dogs and they totally butchered them.

Butcher jobs are not neccessary, it's quick and it's easy, no need to make a mess of it.
This was thirty years ago or so. I haven't done any dogs recently.

Call your Dr's fast. Get the appointment with the Dr that would do your shoulder first. Orthopedic.

I called them right before they closed today. Dr didn't sign off on the other Drs. so no referrals until she does. The 2 Drs are in the same office in Laranceburg called orthocinncy
