Forgot to say it flips over on its back and plays dead. Jumps right up when I move my hand.

If and its a big IF I put the poison down would they be able to free range after how long ?

What are you using? It should say on the bottle. If the chickens are out, maybe they will eat the ticks and you won't need to spray.

I still can't decide if my Australorp chick is a pullet or not. It's a little over 6 weeks now. I guess if it goes red in the next week or two, I will know. It acts so odd. Never had a chicken like it. Challenges everyone, everything! It flew out of the pen today, and was crying over by the dogs. Seemed pretty happy when I picked it up.
