Granny's gone and done it again

In the case of kidney disease, diet of pills caused it. Diet won't cure it but it's the way to prevent it from getting worse. Preventing the need for a kidney transplant is to priority... There may not be a kidney out there that matches me.
I understand how pills can cause kidney disease as I get a kidney function test every 3 months because of a med I take for arthritic fingers. Meloxicam. I only take the low dose but still I get monitored. I've seen first hand what smoking does to lungs and alcohol does to livers too. Want no part of smoking and alcohol is limited to home made cough syrup and not much of that. It is used only when I have a severe cough. I would drink a goblet of wine at bedtime if it didn't conflict with one or more of other meds. I know there are exceptions of the rules as some people smoke like a chimney and drink like a fish and live to be a 100. While we were living in NW MO a young person that was a heavy smoker died at 27 from lung cancer. I've made it long enough to see great grand kids growing up and have a shot at great great grand kids. l trying to make that happen.

My Dad grew figs in FL. Had a big tree and hubby cut the tree down after Dad died. It attracted too many hornets.
I planted two fig trees here and they both died. Not sure why as we live in a zone that is well within the range they were rated to grow in. I've lost peach trees in one area of this farm for no apparent reason and a cherry tree. I've got a neighbor who I think can yank the cherry tree out of the ground so we can see the roots and check for animal damage underground. I am going to replant the fig trees. Fresh figs cost so much for just a handful now.
