I remember one freezing January our well went dry on the farm. Had to haul water from the neighbors and they dug a new well on our garden. Big chunks of frozen soil. When they finally hit water, the township has to close the road cause the water was turning ice fast and it ran right on the road.
Right after Dad died and Mom didn't know where the pipes from the windmill ran. Had to ask one uncle after another till someone could tell us. Dad was in a family of 19 children. The ground was frozen solid!

I'm caught up again and can now wander off to bed and bury myself under the covers.

Burrow under the blankets and sleep well

water supply pipes at the farm are 6 1/2 ft deep.

I hope you never have to dig them back up.

Oh have to dig them next summer as there's a HUGE leak somewhere. This is the city water for the houses. The animals are fine as there are 3 wells out there. Yaks will/can/do eat snow (if we have any) if there's no water.

I usually go straight across , jumping curbs and cursing the whole time.

Kevin took the paper off a can Thursday then set them down on the bar. The dang things popped on their own! Thought I was dying !
