Granny's gone and done it again

You have to clean out an area about 4' in diameter and kill grass and weeds first. Plant the vine and immediately mulch the vine with 4-6" of a straw or other material that is seed free. You can pull young weeds but not mature grass. I have grass here that is "Hell on Earth" to get rid of. I'm still fighting it.

I did that, also the weed barrier stuff. These weeds just don't care.

Weed barriers stuff is a rip off. There is only one kind that really works good enough. It's the kind that is put down on the ground in green houses. I'll PM you a link to a Green House where it went in. There are millions of dollars of the junk tissue thin stuff that goes in every year and it is legal. Legal theft I call it.

I spent so much money on that crap.

I have seen wild one here in my yard. That's what made me think I could grow them. The weeds here are impossible to pull up. Your better off digging the plant up and try to get rid of them that way. Its some type of grass.
I've got some wild grapes here in my yard around oak trees but have never seen them bloom or set fruit.
