Granny's gone and done it again

NIC is the Network Interface Card. It's the gadget in a computer that connects it to the internet. I lost my internet connection and started trouble shooting until something restored my connection. That is what fixed it.
Good Job Larry! I wish I knew a little bit about computers. Even if I was taught I probably wouldn't retain the info. I never had a computer til about 2009. I didn't even know how to turn it on.

We had a plumbing emergency the other day.... were doing a load of laundry and heard ... well, something that didn't sound right. GC checked it out, looked at the hookups in the bathroom (when I had the washer plumbed I wouldn't let the guy close it in with sheetrock in case I ever had to access it; it was one of many fights he and I had), lol, but obvi I was right, bc this is what she saw:

... the black pipe is supposed to be connected to the white pipe! That's the outlet from the washing machine. Somehow it came loose. Apparently he never glued them together! (I had also made him put in lightweight pegboard sliding shelves so I could take them out easily if I ever needed to.)
Anyway, I was able to find a plumber to come in today and fix it, thank goodness. It only took him about 15 minutes but it will never come apart again!
That's what happens when you hire a relative's cousin to do a job for you instead of hiring a CERTIFIED plumber!

Yikes!

That could have turned into a major disaster! Good thing it is open so the walls can dry. Would not want to take a chance on mold growing.

GOod morning Larry, what's on your agenda today?
My agenda was to do a load of laundry, cook 2 meals and clean up the kitchen. I planted 2 types of basil, 4 tomato plants, a pepper plant and some thyme. After that I transplanted some bulbs a neighbor gave me and made an extension on the butterfly garden. I've had my shower and now I'm going to crash! I think I accomplished my agenda today.

Fortunately we have a good dehumidifier. It's been in there drying things out. I think it will be fine!

Wore me out just reading all that!

The Mystery of Blood Type O: America's Ancestral Code
Between the mountains of the Andes, the dense Amazon forests, and the vast deserts of North America, flows an enigma that connects the original peoples: Type O blood. This blood type, devoid of antigens A and B, is not only the oldest in mankind, but in America appears to be an almost universal common legacy, a biological echo of an ancestral past.
In the 1980s, scientists were surprised to discover that 99% of Arizona's Navajo people shared this blood type. Years later, at the heights of the Peruvian Andes, something even more shocking was documented: 100% of the Quechua community possessed O type blood! Similar stories are replicated in the Brazilian jungles, where 92% of Yanomami share this trait, and in the indigenous communities of Oaxaca, Mexico, where it reaches an astonishing 98%.
What mystery does this genetic uniformity hide? Is it the footprint of a mother civilization or a millennial adaptation to the environment? Type O blood is more than a trait; it's a living symbol of identity, a code that tells a story of resilience, unity, and connection across the centuries.
