Granny, I didn't even know about the tornadoes until this evening. My DB texted and asked if we were okay. Up here at the school we got nothing. At home, just tornado watches, not warnings. Two people died in a county north of Poplar Bluff, where we shop. Kentucky lost at least 14 people and a lot of damage.

OK, now I have to know what a smash burger is! How do you make it?

I see SD already explained it. You smash it down skinny flat. At Steak 'n Shake they serve you two of them with American cheese in the middle and on top, bc they are REALLY skinny! It takes two to equal a regular hamburger.

10:00 already. Got to relax a couple minutes before bedtime. Half the yard for mowed this week, the other half looks like a jungle. Had rain every day.
Got DH home and his wound machine stopped working. 5:00 pm a Saturday is not a good time to catch anyone at their job and the home nurses didn't have access to DH chart yet. We didn't want to drive the hour and a half back to the ER
The on call Dr gave me permission to turn off the machine and turn it back on. And it is working again.

Yikes, farms, that sounds terrifying! Glad you got it going again! Do you ever lose your cool? I would be running around screaming and tearing out my hair, lol. What does DH think about the beautiful new floor?

I did sorry of lose my cool because I was trying to take directions to get it running and all I could hear was someone else frantically saying real loud 'we can't go to the ER' over and over. His hurt to much to drive that far.

Yup! The key is you roll the burger into a ball instead of flat into a patty. And really high heat so it sears it and crisps/almost caramelizes the edges. And you put on the pan, grill, whatever, and then you press it down with the spatula or one of those press thingies. I held it down for 10 seconds then let go. Then left it on a bit longer then flipped it. Then I put cheese on mine but you don’t have to. Let it melt. Then took it off. DELICIOUS. I also sliced up a Vidalia onion earlier so I caramelized those as well first. I used Pam in the pan and then a little on top of them but you can use butter too. So I put the onions on top of my burger. And of course the sauce. There’s a lot of different variations of the sauce. This one was mayo, BBQ sauce, and chopped up dill pickles. Most are ketchup, mayo, mustard based. It was delicious though LOL

Sounds delicious! You had me at caramelized onions! Love these things! I would put mushrooms on mine, no cheese.
