Dehydration can make your kidneys filter slowly. If the sodium is high when the egfr is low, I'm not drinking enough. If the creatinine is very high then I'm usually eating too much red meat or dairy. Although it can be medications or other things to. Or if I am sick the egfr is lower. When you fight and infection those dead cells have to go somewhere. So the kidneys work harder to clean everything out of the blood. Thanks
Egfr is how fast the kidneys are clearing the blood; how much blood they can filterThanks
The Mayo clinic has some good information on kidney diets. This may help: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...xpert-answers/food-and-nutrition/faq-20058408I was at the orthopedist today. He doesn't want to do any shots or anything else right now. My egfr was pretty low and the creatinine was high(kidney function) He said to use ice but no pain pills right now because of my kidneys. I'm allowed to work anything that doesn't bother my knee.
It looks like a big knob on my knee cap. The whole knee isn't swollen, just the knee cap. Looks like an elbow sticking out of my knee. He said my bone structure is really really good.
I'm happy with everything except I need to change my diet for my kidneys. Yikes!
I was cooking meat and veggies in the pressure cooker each evening. Dh needs protein for healing but I shouldn't have so much. Red meat. The Mayo clinic has some good information on kidney diets. This may help: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...xpert-answers/food-and-nutrition/faq-20058408
