Granny's gone and done it again

Homemade/live wine is supposed to actually be healing on the stomach. 🤔
Elderberry sounds amazing. I wonder if I could do it with Elderberry tea? Did she add honey/sugar with the lower sugar things?
I'm brewing my first mead right now.
She made both elderberry and elderberry flower. She used white sugar for some. I also remember her putting year on a piece of bread and floating it on top but I don't remember which wine it was

This is awesome!
I stood in the same spot for both pictures.
In the first one I pointed east, in the second one I pointed west.

Mom was also into making cheese. She made her own press and used to but some starter from a Wisconsin store. She used to agree it but she would only agree it in a certain room because good cheese was temperature and humidity dependant. She made really really good cheese. No wonder dairy is my feel good food

I used to love a glass of good wine. My GI told me that if I tried it now I would probably wind up in the ER from it's effects on my digestive tract, so don't try it. Were here exact words. She didn't explain why but I remember the last time we were in KC about 9 years earlier, I tried a glass of wine and the next morning I thought somebody had stabbed me in the stomach so I guess she knew what she was talking about.

My mother had about 12 concord grape vines and would make her own wine out of them. She'd give it out as Christmas gifts.

All you folks out there facing heavy snow, be careful. It was just plain cold here today. I think the high was around 27. It's 18 right now. It was in the low 60s last week. Not my idea of a joke, Ma Nature!

@lovesfarms, I'd be calling the doctor and telling them that you got a hotel room in order to keep your appointment and weather be darned, he will be seen. There have to be exceptions to every rule, especially when a person's health is at stake.

Ooh! Our neighbor makes cheese, she smokes hers instead of aging it. She showed me how and I want to... but buying the cultures has me putting it off. Maybe if I can get the milk goat I want.

Yes, we are getting that weather too. My poor broody sleeping alone in a nest outdoor... I'm worried about her. Its a covered nest though, i put a towel over it and made a windblock of fencing and cardboard. Surely she will be ok...

I think I would also be calling. A laceration is more serious than a normal appointment, they should be able to get you in.

I was feeling a little down.. Maybe I need to get myself feeling up and make the call

Yes. We got to the hotel so we can get to the Dr on time tomorrow morning and we got an email that they are cancelling any appointments before 10:00🤷‍♀️.
We have all the bad luck possible to see a Dr for the lacerations on his stoma. I think I give up on the medical people too!! We are 8 miles close to the city and have about 1" snow mixed with rain at 30° right now 7:30 pm
Will they work you in later in the day since you came from a distance? I'd call early and ask.

I want a milk goat to!! We don't have the right type of land for a dairy cow, but goats would do well on our property! Making cheese is something I'd like to do to!
