He treats my mom like a queen unless he has been drinking liquore and he doesnt do that anymore. He will be grumpy around my mom but take it out on me and my siblings.. it still upsets her. When I was young, he was way worse. He has calmed since being a grandpa.. he is good with the grandkids and my mom... but she knows what he does... She sees it.

Yep, glad things went the way they did. I know my dad was the best parent he could be. Most times his tongue cut like a knife, but even under all that he still had a heart of gold. We aLL are creatures of our upbringing unless we work really hard to not repeat the cycle.
