No, cats need something that dog food doesn't have. Can't remember what it is. Unless I've just knocked my head too many times

Taurine, it's a developmental need. That's why cats that are raised on dog food have so many problems, big one is blindness and dilated cardiomyopathy

I know the difference is protein. cat food has way more. I could scramble them some eggs I guess.

A can of dog food won't hurt unless it's a special formula. Just make sure there's no big hunks they could choke on.
