Duck? 48 hours from pip, 40--50 zip. I've found they can go even longer, easy. Go with your gut, and remember that if there's yawning the yolk isn't absorbed. If it's punching around in one spot for a long time it might be stuck.

I noticed the second pip early this morning. So from there should I wait 24 to 48 hours before helping? It really hasn't made much progress at all if any sense this morning

In the ducks? As long as there's been progress in the last 12 hours, I'd definitely wait. They're so easy to help too soon. Remember, it can breathe, so no rush to get it out..

banty told me to just keep an eye on it. She said sometimes they will hatch like that but it may take longer for them to hatch since they're making both internal and external pips

I BBQed for the first time all year. In a thunderstorm. hehee went and picked up meds ,fed and watered all the critters and my computer is still on ?? Hmm... I suspect foul play.
