there seems to be some BUT with the drought I am not sure We just got the 4 yearlings posted in the past week or so.

My niece just told me in arcata, ca there are a couple of guys who walk their yaks around town on leashes.

that is another sales area and pack animals in parks and such.

there is a yak ranch in Colorado willing to swap heifer calves for bulls, bull calves and steers, MOST of which will be slaughtered around 3 or 4. They seem to be going into the meat market big time. And if you purchase a starter herd from them they guarantee to buy back all the male calves. NOT sure on bloodlines or registeration levels.

Arcata is beautiful, up along the coast in the redwoods, so you know the weather is very mild. Yaks would do well there. Next time I am up that way, I will go on a yak hunt!

they just did a concert here last weekend BUT I wasn't going to pay 44 smackers to see them and it was 50 at the door.

I think they booted him out of town. The manure was too much.
