Granny's gone and done it again

Yikes. Those are some big chompers. Your poor dog.
Muskrat about the size of a rabbit, then? With a long tail.

yep pretty much up here they are usually found in slews (sloughs) or potholes not creeks or rivers. They don't seem fond of fast flowing water.

yep between them and then with Maiah and newborn in the same pasture the dogs will NOT be going to the farm in the am. I may have to bribe my way back into the house tomorrow night.

I saw a show about Nutria. People were trying to market them as a food source! :sick Maybe if I was REALLY hungry.

OH I saw a mother wild turkey and 4 good sized chicks on the bridge in the town of Gladstone (locals call it Happy Rock) which is what the enchanted highway runs thru. Which is the fastest way to get to the farm and back.
Turkeys aren't native here, but they've been trying to introduce them for over a 100 yrs. Last attempt about 20 yrs ago seems to have worked in our county... they are all over the place, including in town. Sometimes big turkey herds stop traffic crossing the street. My dad has a bunch up at his place. The males attack his glass door trying to kill their reflections!
