Turkeys aren't native here, but they've been trying to introduce them for over a 100 yrs. Last attempt about 20 yrs ago seems to have worked in our county... they are all over the place, including in town. Sometimes big turkey herds stop traffic crossing the street. My dad has a bunch up at his place. The males attack his glass door trying to kill their reflections!

Yes, that's what the show was about, trying to encourage people in LA to hunt and eat this delicious critter! Someone opened a restaurant serving it and you could buy the meat canned.
