Seems like it was linen or cheese cloth with wax covering maybe ???

I remember some kind of meat that was wrapped in a heavy clothlike/waxed paper stuff. Grandparents bought all that kind of stuff. Guess that's why I've eaten most of it lol.

We never even had spam or bologna in the house growing up..prolly why I never buy it as an adult.

Come Easter we always pickle about 10 dozen eggs , and pour beet juice to colour them . If I don't hit in a hurry I will have to buy eggs . LOL

this one wasnt like that . It was the big old fashion loaf . no juice.
Think they used to use the cheese cloth and wax as a preservative .

What is that stuff called that is made in a loaf pan. You slice it & fry. The old timers ate it. Don't think I've ever had it.

My father worked, my mom was a stay at home mom (she worked very hard) There never was enough money to feed 5 kids. You hunted & killed everything you could to make ends meet. Husband & I still live that way.
