I homeschooled my daughter until she went to college on a full scholarship at the age of 14. Does he have any interest in a small college in Virginia with a gifted program? They can start as young as maybe 13 and in the meantime, he can start taking AP exams and getting his first college credits.

They across town but that's no problem I'll shuttle him where he needs to be , but high school kids are notoriously mean or at least we was! I don't wanna have to bird dog him or embarrass him .

Last year was his first year at public school, we homeschooled him till then. It was his choice to go to public school .

Had an interesting meeting at Will's school today, They did an end of grade test last year. He's in the 6th grade . They feel he would be more suited to the 8th grade ,and possibly the 9th . No there's no denying he's smart, but there's something's I'd just a soon he didn't learn so young. The 9th grade he would have to go to high school. I hate to hamper his learning , but ???? I'm in a quandary over this . An thoughts, comments , advice ????

That would be akin to sending a kid who stole an ice cream bar to prison with hardened criminals! Intellectual readiness & emotional readiness are two different things. Kids need time to be kids.
Any possibility of home schooling?

And he's crushing on one of his 17yo pupils named Angel , it's Angel this and Angel that, you would think she's really an honest to goodness angel . LOL she is purty , but my boys gonna get his new teenage heart broke .

How many times did you get your heart broken when you were 13? You survived, and probably had a new crush going within the month.

Too true ,but you never want your kids to hurt no way no how.

You can say it, I'm over protective of my kids. But they is stuff out there now , we did not have to contend with .

plus it is better to be 18 when you graduate HS. You make better decisions.

And the sooner he's thrust into a high school environment, the sooner he'll have to contend with it, without the social experience a couple more years with his own age group would have given him.
