Granny's gone and done it again

Hope you have your first aid cert up to date. Looks like you are needing it today. Poor little bubba baby. That ear has got to be tender. I bet he didn't let you put ice on it!

That is kind of odd looking... almost like nerve sheath. At first I was going to say to lance it, but probably better to leave it, other than soaking. Out here, foxtails cause that kind of problem every summer, and I usually let the dogs take car of it, let them lick if it doesn't turn into chewing. The vets don't like that, but it has always worked for me. If wound is draining, they will keep it open and draining instead of needing a tube inserted. But I'm not a vet!!!

You'd better believe no ice... I put my water cup against right after it happened and you should've seen him dancing around. He'd whimper and whine every couple minutes "oh it hurt so bad, I just need a bandaid." Fine, I gave him one and not another peep. ;)

So for the paw, you think unwrapped?

OK, I probably shouldnt but, That is the dumbest thing I have heard today ! How do you expect to heal with you using it ? You know better then that. :old
It is splinted, Monday they should do the cast. This isn't my first rodeo with a broken wrist. I am not lifting anything with it. It mainly was used to steady the veggies while I was chopping.

Rod would have done it, but he had to replace a part on his truck & the parts store gave him the wrong part. He ended up having to make a second trip to get the right one. I knew it was going to be a long day so I did as much as I could possibly do to make it go faster. You can if you use a pressure cooker or if your brave enough to water bath it like twist does. I'm not that ballsy. Would be to scared someone would get sick.

was it severe ? The rash? My mom got it and her rash was small . She complained a lot but she didnt have any permanent damage I dont believe. She got lucky with that part.
At first, I thought it was poison ivy, but it didn't itch; looked like it, though. It was confined to my right arm & shoulder. Once the pain started it drove me to tears, literally. When the scabs were gone, I was left with a small scar on the inside of my wrist, and a hand & arm that wouldn't work normally. It was 6 months before I could write my name legibly; before that my signature was an "X". After a year of PT, most at home, I'd regained most of the normal use of my hand and arm, but it'll never be 100% again. If I try to lift a full glass I usually have to use both hands to get a good grip. I'm a duckpin bowler, and have to pick up a 5" bowling ball with the left hand, then transfer it to the right. I don't have the control I had pre-shingles, and have been known to drop the ball in the middle of my approach, 'cause I'm not always sure how firm a grip I have on what I'm holding.
All in all, I can't recommend it, but many have it worse than I did. I can bowl, hunt, fish, drive, & use power & hand tools; what more can a man expect?

I don't know why ears hurt so much... lots of nerves, I guess. Thank heavens for the mystical healing powers of bandaids!

If you are gong to keep soaking the foot, then maybe keep it covered. If it's not an abscess with pus draining, then you don't want it infected. The abscesses sort of wall themselves off from the body so not as much worry. His doesn't look quite like that. I think it's a bite of some sort.
