She still lets her male kitten nurse sometimes. He is like 5 months old and almost as big as her. They have a great time playing.

Will the male kitten get neutered?

Yes, we took him in but he only weighed 3.5 pounds and they prefer to wait until they hit 5. Mom is already neutered.

I just noticed in one of those coop pictures you can see the roof nearby on the ground.

It was very safe and controlled; I guess they had previously done controlled burns with a forestry service? If they had a handful of twigs they were building a fire. Every armload of brush went straight in. They burned old stumps, everything.
