We have 13 acres of it. By the time we clean up one mess, another tree falls. Lots of dead pines.dont forget to leave some of it for the critters homes

See, i pay a lot buying it at farm supply stores and you really don't get to check it out when you buy it. I only buy a bale at a time so it does not pay to go to a farm somewhere. Once those slackers get my goat shed built i will have a place to store more.I've had trouble the last 2 times I bought hay. It has to be trucked in here. Dusty, dirt clods, and not pure Timothy. A lot to pay for what ends up being mulch.
Oh man, those little bags in the pet section are such a rip off! I got spoiled in TN. Got nice hay for $2 a bale from my vet, who grew, cut and baled his own! I have just been feeding pellets and my youngest bun is sick. She has loose stools and seems skinny. I did give her a small piece of pear and it may have messed her up. I put her in a bin with shavings and brought her inside. Hope she will be ok. Gave her a bit of oatmeal bread and kaopectate.Same here, bale at a time. The bun is the only one that eats it, so it need to be good to last. We ran our right before the fire, and brother has my truck while his car is in the shop. I've been buying it in the plastic bags in the pet section at the feed store. One more of those and I could have paid for a regular bale. Or maybe it won't... haven't checked prices this year. Last year was $21.
