Granny's gone and done it again

15 yr old gd gonna gonna play in subregional volleyball tournament this weekend in huntsville. 10 year old gd playing in softball world series nexr month.
Wow! Good luck to both. World series is quite an accomplishment! We had a local boys baseball team make it to the series several years back. Very exciting!

Well. So that house we were supposed to check out yesterday...went off the market. Pending sale.

Sigh.

Our realtor was pushing the house with the sceptic in the driveway (uh no) and "oh shall we check out a house with no yard and good luck fitting all your vehicles"

So. It's basically going to be keep our eye on what's for sale, and wait some more.

Oh well. I told hubs my bankroll plan and got no opposition so....yay.
Maybe keep your eye out for a new realtor too...

This is the closest pic of the type of squeeze chute I got. there are 2 pins about 1/2 way up that you can pull and then the solid part can come out to work on feet and lower body. In mine each pole is separate instead of upside down U shape and un locks and drops down so you can get to what ever area of the upper body you need. The sides close in and can "squeeze" the whole body of the animal which stop them from throwing their bodies around and honestly seems to clam them down as well. There is a back swinging panel so they can not back out of the chute or others run thru when you open the front to release the one in the chute. You can also choose to let their head thru and trap it or not. You can do all the side stuff on both sides

Those are safer for everyone involved. Will be well worth the money spent.

Thats a pretty great idea those shoots. And yes it does calm them. Tempel Granden (sp) discovered this and changed how cows were treated and brought to slaughter. She is a wonderful woman and Autistic. I have her life story on dvd. She is an inspiration to others.
Do you know how many other people I've met who know who Temple Grandin is? No one. You are the first! She is an inspirational person.

I know who temple is. I have her book.

Awwwww, that is too cute!

I tried looking for them at TSC and lost internet.
Well, if you're searching "fat butts" you are probably being shut down by the internet censors (j/k)

I've seen them granny. They didn't sell here either.

they're like this but metal.
Wouldn't that be "butt metal"

Sorry all, I'm not ignoring anyone.. My folks are home... All o can say is... It is what it is.
Oh, Linda, hugs to you my friend. I am sorry that you are having a rough evening - I do hope that you are able to get some good rest and that tomorrow will be a better/brighter day for you.

just found this EXCELLENT information on most things Yak

Not enough genetic info! Only that the gene for golden is rare and recessive. Estrus 4 times a year... I didn't know that.

At the risk of being smacked for bringing it up SO early (not my fault, was digging through my "card box" for a birthday card for my aunt and came across a box of cards that brought this to mind) - are we going to do a holiday card exchange again this year? (really hope the answer is yes, lol)

Me Me Me! Please pm your new address. And Linda too. I will check my book and see who else I am missing.

air is fresher . belly is full. Very good brunchinner. I used the rest of @ChickenLady2014 home made oat bread , fresh eggs straight from the butt of the hens , pure vanilla and some cream for a drop dead delish french toast. . For toppers we had our choice of reg. syrup, Real syrup from Mi. or fresh sliced strawberries in its own juice and real whipped cream. The fried bacon flavored spam was just an afterthought. And, we ate on our best china- ete

The blue flowers contrasted very nicely with the red strawberries.

Took Robert to town for a little fun and it was all good til we started home. Found a different table for my bator that I like much more at the flea market, went across the river for smokes, went to TSC and thats when trouble started. I was almost broke and needed feed. I walked in normal but came out all kinds of geeked . LOL Did anyone see the metal fat butts bending over ? cowboy boots. They were $40.00 this spring. I just bought 5 of them. @$2.00 each. I ran them back out not knowing if I had chicken food money or not. I had enough for one bag so I took Robert in with me. Then I seen a paper where they will be having a swap on the 29th.
THEN on the way home all heck broke loose with Mother nature. I heard beeping on the radio, tornado warning, I seen the clouds part and start swirling and I hurried to the cemetery where I knew the masolium was open. We waited there for a while and I am guessing that was a good thing. Tree limbs down, roads under water. wind was horrible. I went through deep water from flooded roads 3 times. Last time really shook me. My white van turned mud. went right over the windshield and I couldnt see crap for a min. My treasures are in the van and as far as I am concerned they can stay there for a while.
Oh my goodness. So glad you didn't get hurt. Mom and sis must have been watching over you. Give me an earthquake any day. Tornadoes are super scary!

Granny, are u still online? The debate has been the best & most respectful thus far. They actually talked about the issues.
Good moderator asking good questions helped. They still didn't answer some questions. Deflections and switching topics, so you know when it makes one look bad.

That makes 2! Guess I don't go around asking people, but most who have any interest in autism have probably heard of her.

Is that what I need for my intended purpose? I have a feeling I might just have to get it and try.
I'm far from being an expert woodworker, but my thought is that a block plane, which is designed to shave fairly flat surfaces, should not be the "weapon of choice" for tree limbs, assuming you want to retain the irregular contours of the limbs. Not really sure what you should be using instead; maybe a spoke shave or draw knife?

This is so hard for me to explain in my girl words. Ok. I've got a big stack of firewood from where we cleared some brush. I want to make an end table a little like this:

BUT I only want to shave a bit off the top, so there are more stable contact points for a glass top that I'll frame in. I don't want to square the logs in any sort of way. Just shave them a bit (some more than others) so it's flat enough to set glass on top. I think it would be prettier than just setting glass on top.

From what I've read I think I need a plane for the flat edge instead of the curved blade of the spokeshave.
sweetness, those top logs you need to split by hand down the middle

you need a small splitting mulb and old timers tool love sometimes called a frow or frau I think

hang on

well I was close enough! lol ......
A froe (or frow) or shake axe is a tool for cleaving wood by splitting it along the grain. It is an L-shaped tool, used by hammering one edge of its blade
