I don't even have saffron. ''Tis an expensive spice!
Laundry and trailer cleaning continues. Hubs went to a friend's place to revalue and do some other black magic to the shocks for his desert toy truck and offroadvo. "Oh want to come with?"
I know how going over there ends up. I end up distracting their kids while mom and dad take a break. Which, ok, but not when I have stuff to do.
You can buy saffron rice in a small bag for a buck. I love it so I thought I could make my own. I also thought it came as a powder. I dont know what this was. It wasnt even yellow.
Hi Star. Dont blame you. DD is babysitting a brand new little all night. She must be feeling better or she is nuttier then I thought.

Saffron is actually red-orange. The spice itself is expensive, but I buy mine at Costco or in specialty shops when we take a trip to a big city. You only want a pinch (just a few strands) for any dish. It can taste off if you use too much.
I should mention, my husband is a chef and I worked as a baker for several years, also.
